Korba: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a Swachha Bharat Mission led by the Indian government. As a part of Swachhata Abhiyan, Swachhata Pakhwada was initiated to bring a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and practices of swachhata meaning cleanliness.
Under the aegis of ongoing Swachata Pakhwada being celebrated from 16th May to 31st May 2023, NTPC Korba organized a cleanliness campaign on 21 May 2023 at Korba Railway Station. The cleanliness drive took place inside and outside the railway station.
Inaugurating the Swachhta Pakhwada 2023, Shri B. Ramachandra Rao, Project Head, NTPC Korba also took oath on the occasion of Swachhta Pakhwada on 16 May 2023.
This cleanliness campaign at Korba railway station was led by Shri B.R. Rao, Head of Project, NTPC Korba, Shri Madhu S., General Manager (O&M), Shri Lalit Ranjan Mohanty, General Manager (Operations), Shri Amber Kumar, General Manager (Ash Dyke Management), Shri Prabhat Ram, AGM (HR) and HODs, members of union and association, the NTPC Korba team along with DC (CISF) and the CISF team of NTPC Korba.
Essential hygiene practices, such as the usage of gloves, masks, and dustbins, were demonstrated throughout the drive.
Various types of awareness programs and competitions are also being organized at NTPC Korba during the cleanliness fortnight.
This campaign was introduced by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and was launched on 2 October 2014 to honor Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a Clean India. The cleanliness campaign of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan runs on a national level and encompassed all the towns, rural and urban. Swachhata means cleanliness and Pakhwada means 15 days, this means it is an initiative of 15 days of different activities for the Swachha Bharat mission.
